Excessive Nature - The Movie
This movie is about Excessive Nature - a Q3 clan playing the excessive style.
it is a straight forward edited frag movie and shows scenes of E+ only.
content description (bit detailed for non-excessive players):
all content is from real clanwars. no bot fragging, no set up frags, no cheap public fragging...
EN won over 98% of their matches in E+ and finished each cup, league and rank they parcipated in as #1.
the movie starts with a number of frag rows and cap runs. second excessive style is famous for, since it is prolly the fastest ctf around :)
frag rows in excessive are easier due to the weapons' higher damage. also they are more difficult due to not having powerups and everyone spawning fully armed.
the movie finishes with the typical air shots, double frags and other awesome frags.
editing description (check screenshots):
like most movies this one got it's mistakes... here some cuts are too fast, audio transitions cruel, ingame sound bugs, other minor stuff...
nevertheless the movie is pretty colorful... eye-candy and effects are added (some might be unknown to you^^)
you will noticed that I tried a lot of different stuff to extend my skills... lot's of different effects (more or less successful) among with a quite strange variance of music xD
btw. EN's main clan color is cyan... that should explain some editing styles :D
Overall this movie should be enjoyable to content-lovers as well as to lovers of editing.

well, at over 17 minutes long and over 700MB, this really is excessive in nature
XD
It was worth the download though, very entertaining.
The editing was very good, lots of new ideas. Seemed to have a depth of field effect on most of the movie which looked good and didnt annoy me.
Quality was excellent, config looked nice, very colourful and vibrant if a little dark in places (an effect im assuming) I also liked the gibs in this, not way over the top like in the latest MME. How did you get them back to standard?
The music was quite different, but good in its own kind of way :-) i found myself boogying in my chair to "Feel the Rush"
I loved the intro, all the slightly cheesy text :-D fit really well and set a great atmosphere. An excellent movie to remember EN one day.
The player intro's on pigskin was nicely done and enjoyable.
The content needed a little work in my opinion. We all know (well, all in excessive atleast) that EN are a clan with skilled players (some highly) and there was some really nice frags / runs / caps in the movie, but some minor things could have been kept out to make it < 15 min, and thus slightly more enjoyable.
One last thing, imo you should have used z6_low_explosions.pk3. Would have helped see what was going on a little bit better, so many explosions in excessive makes it a little hard sometimes.
Hmm.. think thats everything.
Overall a nice movie, full of nice effects and creativity, that is worth the monster download. Might be slightly harder for people who dont play excessive to understand. But for those that do play it - a keeper for sure.
ill give it a solid 8/10
Hopefully see more in the future.. Excessive Nature 2 perhaps?? :-D

Wow, So much here to say, first of all the movie is very nice, you did a great job on it,
The content is ok, some frags were abit dodgy. imo, There was way to much effects and glowy stuff, But there is a lack of that is most videos, you used AE well (:
Starting is great, I like the intro alot,
Music, Suited the video well imo.
Bit dark is some places, but that seemed to suit it
To many explotions (But thats Exessive for you).
Creativity: 8/10
Quality: 8/10
Effects 8/10
Content 7/10
P.s: I think people know about google, So "AfterEffects resources.txt" isn't really needed (:

I simply edited the script files. Also I did post that solution on q3mme board in august... but that is pruned meanwhile :o

first of all: nice to see new e+ movies!
here some things i liked and disliked as well:
the quality:
+ the hq version offers a pretty sharp image and even the LQ version is enjoyable compared to other LQ versions of other fragmovies.
- image is a little bit too dark
the effects:
+ nice to see what the q3 engine can look like with depth of field and some more contrast ;)
+ nice ideas with the coloreffects especially in the outro
- frag messages could have been brighter, they are sometimes hard to see.
the music:
+ it fits the content. enya rox ;)
the content:
+ nice killingsprees :D
+ nice midair bfgs
+ double rails :O
+ nice caps (odin on mapel4b lol)
- due to effects and speed of the changing scenes, some frags are not easy to see
rating: 9 / 10
good q3 movie in the end and best e+ movie so far ;)

Some nice idea, especialy in the intro (with Doom)
But the content don't really get me, I have saw better one, and due to the length over 17min, it became a little boring.
Moreover enya is ok for the credits but not for frags sequence, especialy in excessive mod (a very fast mod)
It's my opinion,
but overall a solid movie for your first one.
You pay a lot of attention to the editing, that's a + point
I hope too see other movies by you, maybe traditional mods...

im not usually a fan off weird q3 mod movies so this one was better than i expected. i didn't love the music, but it was something different though i'll give you that. although i hate enya. i havnt played a lot of excessive but a lot of the shots seemed to be all in a days work for the mod if you know what i mean. that being said there were some nice looking ones too though. what really stood out for me though was the editting. some cool new effects and original ideas, gave me some ideas for some of my own. good job for a first vid 7.5/10 :D
