There are many tutorials in this forum (in a section called... tutorials). Look at Orxata's one it explains all the basic stuffs. Which game is it? If it is Quake3 you don't need fraps. If it is an other game it is depending if you have functions like the /cl_avidemo in Quake. Anyway when you export do it with uncompressed avi (takes lot of space but it has the best quality). Basically you will need a program to capture from the game into avi (fraps if no cl_avidemo stuff, pjbmp2avi or virtualdub if it has), an edtiting program (premiere, ulead media studio or vegas, in order of quality imo: you can find tutorials for them on http://www.creativecow.net), and that's all. If you want to add special effects you can use the effects provided with the editing softwares or use Adobe After Effects. If you want to add some text effects, either use the editing software or ulead cool 3d. You can use Photoshop too to work on some pics.

Alcohol is the answer, but I can't remember the question!

Well you can make titles, backgrounds and such with photoshop, its not a good video editor unless you wanna render frame by frame.
Popular video editing progs for game vids are Adobe Premier, Vegas Video and Ulead Media Studio (as baccus mentioned) i dunno if ET has the cl_avidemo command but it is based on the Q3 engine so it should.
Fraps produces pretty good quality IMO and the filesize is large because its uncompressed and once u finish editing the uncopressed footage you can encode it with XviD or another codec.

A couple suggestions be4 u start
1. Be creative
2. Make it fun to watch
3. Don't use Evanescence or Linkin Park for the soundtrack ;)
so GL and HF!

you type it in in console e.g. cl_avidemo 30 (means you will capture 30 screenies every second)

The screenshots go into the 'screenshots' folder, which is in the baseET (or named likewise) folder. The baseET folder is also the folder where you place custom maps, look for the screenshots folder there.
The screenshots will be named shot0000.tga shot0001.tga etc.

PS to turn off capturing the screenshots type /cl_avidemo 0
gl :)

i found out how to do it, but when i do it , it takes like 5 minutes to get a capture of 25 seconds of gameplay. Will it take this long to make a movie, cause that will take a shit load of time. :(

It will take a shit load of time.

Your PC tries to write 25 .tga files of 1 MB each to your harddisk, for every second worth of demo, and depending on the speed of the PC this only lags a little bit or a lot :/

What resolution are you using while capturing the screenshots? 12 seconds per screenshot seems like too long...

you'd probably be better off using 800*600, filesize of 1024*768 is humongous :\ and most ppl don't like 1024 movies (neither do I )

The question should be 'will other people's PC's be able to handle it'... :(
Some slower computers will not be able to show 30 fps at 800x600.

640x480 is the standard nowadays. As a guide, own-age.com has set a filesize that is equivalent to 20 MB/minute. With a higher resolution then 640x480, that means the overall image quality is dropping fast to still make 20 MB/minute.
You can crop the 1024x768 screenshots, but it isn't really necessary (in my opinion), just make sure you enable anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering on your video card before capturing the screenshots.

What do these features called "Full-scene anti-aliasing (FSAA)" and "Anisotropic filtering" do?

Select the icon of your video card (or right click on your desktop), go to 'properties' - 'settings' - 'advanced' - select your video card tab, go to the performance and quality settings. There should be something of a list with 'anisotropic filtering' and 'anti-aliasing' there. If the box is checked for 'set by application', uncheck that and set the values to the max.

The video card will have high quality now, but performance drops. After capturing the screenshots, make sure you switch back all settings so your video card uses high performance again when gaming :)
