I
was quite tempted to say the community pool might have a
slight influence on their choice but I'm not sure. Guests won't be able
to vote this year anyway, so I think we can expect some rather serious
votes instead of the usual "let's get all my m8's to vote several times
for my movie" bs.

Ye idd, just for example, there is much more CS'ers than UT'ers, etc :D. I doubt that CS movie maker will vote for a UT3 movie .) |

I was away the whole week-end, but tomorrow I don't work, so I will do it tomorrow afternoon, as well as setting up the poll and watching the movies. You can already get the movies from the FTP btw. |

Well quickly going through the four movies:
1. the abracadabra
2. 1336.Z
3. Cold Blood
4. JoKaXvid
I might write something a bit more extensive when the profiles are up. The fight for the top spot is a close one, hard to judge between 1336.Z and the abracadabra, especially as UT3 looks so damn good. |

wiza ftw if you ask me, seen all vids and still wiza's I find most creative and best editing overal. The way he uses the music is incredible, wish I could do that :x
Anyway, when is the result going to be submitted by the referees? Gl to all contestants, liked all movies although the WoW I didn't understand shit lol :P gg anyway!

1336.Z was the only movie where the effects look professional and nothing looked strange or not right. but if you wanna see a fragshow as i think this movie is meant to be it isnt really much joy to watch it, only good editing.
The abracadabra had the best content

As we are waiting for the decision, I thought I could share with you my feelings. In my humble opinion, you can't just simply watch all movies and say "this one is the best". Imo it all depends even more on music and your personal taste, than just on editing.
Also, even if one person likes a movie, there is no rule that say that some other person will like it. That's like fancy skating. They are using hell a lot of ratings, so they can be more sure, who is better. But still, it's subjective. They can't really measure it, for example the way how someone skates/the form of introducing his program etc.
Same goes for movies - we just can't select the best one. There is no best movie. |

| If 1336.Z didn't have that awful intro that just ruined the whole feel of the movie I would have voted for it and not for The Abracadabra. I the song and the editing had such an heroic feel (if you understand what I mean), I've watched it about 10 times, but I always skipped the outro... |
